Regards Détournés - Averted Gazes

"Regards Détournés", two bodies in close proximity share the same space yet look away. The gaze is aligned toward something beyond the frame. Broad, fluid brushstrokes overlap and collide, softening contours yet keeping clear boundaries between two people. Color moves between cool blues and greens and warmer undertones, creating a shifting field where tension and harmony coexist. What binds them is not exchange, but a quiet alignment—an unspoken focus that draws them in the same direction. The scene holds a sense of suspended intensity, where presence is felt collectively yet never fully meets. What binds the figures is not exchange, but a quiet sustained alignment.

Perhaps closeness is not found in facing one another, but in sharing the same horizon.
